How is Artwork Sold
1. Buyer Makes Purchase:- The Buyer adds the product to their cart and makes the payment via the checkout page.
- The Buyer contacts the Seller to inquire about the shipping and delivery process including costs.
- The Seller receives notification of the sale via their dashboard and an email notification. The payment is automatically divided between the Seller and artradie, and it appears in the Seller’s Stripe account on the same day.
- Stripe typically transfers the money to the connected bank account within four (4) business days after a sale. However, the exact transfer time may vary depending on your bank and the specific circumstances of the transaction. You can check your Stripe dashboard for the specific transfer times.
- The Seller reviews the order details and verifies the received payment in Stripe.
- The Seller arranges and confirms the shipping and delivery with the Buyer using the contact details received via order emails.
- The Seller ships the order. The Seller tracks and communicates with the Buyer to ensure the order is delivered. This includes tracking the order, monitoring delivery, and handling customer inquiries.
- Once the order is delivered, the Seller marks the order as complete in the dashboard.
- The Seller asks the Buyer for a review.
You’ll negotiate shipping costs directly with Buyers. You’re responsible for packaging and shipping your artwork securely.
Once a Buyer completes their purchase and the Seller has negotiated shipping with the Buyer, funds are securely transferred within three working days to your account by artradie minus the payment gateway transaction fees (Stripe). You can withdraw your funds from your artradie account through our secure payment system.
We offer several efficient features to help you promote your work including shop customisation options, social media sharing buttons, and through artradie targeted advertising opportunities. Be sure to optimise your listings with relevant keywords and high-quality photos.

artradie supports the proposed Artist Resale Royalty Scheme to be launched in Aotearoa New Zealand. The scheme will ensure that artists receive a 5% portion of proceeds whenever their work is resold. This will provide artists with a financial boost and recognition of their ongoing contribution to the art market of Aotearoa. As information about the formal process of the Artist Resale Royalty Scheme becomes available it will be posted on artradie.
The scheme applies to original visual artworks (paintings, sculptures, photographs, etc.) sold for NZ$1,000 or more.
A collection agency will be appointed by Manatū Tāonga – Ministry of Culture and Heritage to manage the collection and distribution of royalties.
