I’m an Egyptian-New Zealander woman with a deep appreciation for different cultures, diversity, and connections. Influenced by my multicultural background, my creative process allows me to freely explore themes of people and their intricacies, from the colors they wear to their motivations. I’m fascinated by the energizing effects of nature, often incorporating landscapes and animals into my work.
My painting style is contemporary impressionism, aimed at inviting viewers into my world through interesting lighting and texture. Whether using acrylics, oils, or mixed media, I strive to create pieces that resonate with emotions and experiences.
Born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, I pursued studies in interior design at the Faculty of Fine Arts. Starting my career specializing in school buildings, I later discovered my passion for teaching art and design to students of all ages. In 2011, my family and I relocated to Auckland’s North Shore, where I established Designed by Sue Studio.
Here, I’m dedicated to nurturing creativity and expression among my students, believing in the transformative power of art to uplift spirits and foster connections between individuals. Come join me at the studio, where imagination meets artful reality!
